PostHeaderIcon Don’t Lay Out the Big Bucks

There are multitudes of ways to spend money on scrapbooking. The new products never stop. You might need to be frugal at times and there are a number of ways you can get a sophisticated look in your layouts with out having to lay out the big bucks. Here are just a few examples:

  • work with paper that has patterns that look like embellishments – you pay for the paper alone but your page looks like there’s lots going on without having to load it up with embellishments
  • use a label maker or print your subtitles from your computer instead of the more costly rubber stamps
  • frame your photos with acrylic markers instead of purchasing frames
  • fancy up your plain papers with torn paper corners – no need to buy the ready-made type

My list could go on  – but you get the idea.  Feeling the pinch?  There are ways to save on supplies.  If you would like to share your money saving ideas with our visitors, contact us at info@paperhills.com and we’ll pass them along.

PostHeaderIcon Money Saving Idea

Here’s another money saving idea for scrapbooking.  Do you save your scraps from all those pricey but beautiful scrapbooking papers?  I sure do.  A great way to use some of them up is to create your own design by colour or pattern blocking.  Simply cut out random squares or other shapes from your scraps in matching colour families (this can also include an array of patterns in complimentary colours).  Then glue onto a plain paper, interweaving with your photo layout to create a wonderful theme all your own.  If your scraps work well as a quilt, don’t bother using a background colour.  Let your imagination rule.   That’s unique!
