Perspectives on History
We have many reasons for Scrapbooking, the most common is probably to document special moments in our own family history to be kept and shared with our children, and their children, and so on.
But what about a different perspective…something else to consider that might help to add substance to your family stories. We are all sure to remember some event in our life that may have defined our generation, or our development, or our outlook on life, which stands out from all the other more mundane experiences. These memorable events can be documented along with the other family history. They are pieces of the puzzle of our lives that might otherwise be missing to a reader many years from now.
You might also want to compare your perspective of an historical event that occurred in your life with someone else, like a friend or a relative who might have experienced it too – maybe a sister or brother. Their words and memories of the event could provide a wealth of insight into that time in history that will be appreciated and learned from by generations to come.

This same principle can be applied to any special event that you might be Scrapbooking: weddings, births, vacations, school experiences. Shared, yet different, perspectives could be journalled and could make the story so much more interesting!
