Part 1 of a 2-page layout of visit to Fort Steele. The stitching on the paper inspired me to use ink stitching around my pictures. -Val Grills-

Part 2 of the trip to Fort Steele: the paper is matching to Part 1 but different pattern. The stitching around the pictures is done with ink. – Val Grills -

Part 1 of a 2-page summer layout. The summer mood is created by the sandy paper and earthy colours. -Val Grills-

Part 2 of the summer layout. I used similar colours to Part 1, but different papers. I also used stamps to enhance the otherwise plain backgrounds in both Parts. This photo is of the view my son is seeing, and the journaling is just a guess at what his thoughts might have been that day. -Val Grills-

A wonderful Heritage layout of my mother’s family homestead in the early years. Photos were changed to antique shades to create the historical mood. -Val Grills-

Part 1 of a 2-page layout of the family homestead in the late 1970s. The theme was meant to look old and worn. -Val Grills-

The nature aspect of both paper and embellishments in this layout are beautifully blended (wood, flowers, trees). -Val Grills-

Camping Family Reunion. I used natural rugged paper and ragged photo frames to create the “campy” mood. -Val Grills-

I love the heritage mood of this layout. The florals and colours are perfect. I also used an interesting method for making the feature photo stand out. I glued the photo onto a matching background, covered with a layer of handmade soft paper. I then tore away the edges, allowing the photo to show. -Val Grills-

This Christmas fabric is in a different color with the same idea of the presents, but this time i placed the kids pictures behind the presents and placed them under the tree. The bows were cut out separately and placed on the tree instead of Christmas decorations. – Linda Hanna -

In this page I saved the edges of the picture that I trimmed down and cut those into small squares. I decided to try my sister’s idea about the border. It turned out great and it was color coordinated. I save all of the edges that I crop from my pictures. – Linda Hanna -

The squares on this page were given to me by a quilter. They were already cut so I hand sewed them together into a quilt and placed the pictures inside the squares. It was a time consuming project but well worth the effort. – Linda Hanna -

This is one of my favorite pages. I found this fabric with the house and fence and animals in a large panel at my local thrift store. I think that it was for a quilt. I just cut out everything individually and place them on the appropriate paper for my theme. – Linda Hanna -
