Create a time worn look to your scrapbooking layouts.
There are some excellent methods for converting the appearance of your scrapbooking papers from new to having that time worn look.
• Apply colour to your paper by lightly dragging an ink pad over your paper in one direction, then in another direction if you prefer to add a bit more interest;
• Another worn effect can be created if you run the pad over the paper’s edges.
Try these great antique colours for creating the perfect aged look – some of my favourites:

It doesn’t take much to create texture and age in your scrapbooking.
Leave space in your scrapbooking layout for journaling
Always leave a space in your layout to write a story, be it short or long. You don’t have to journal as you go. I often go back after the layout is complete to do my writing. You may want to spend an hour or so and journal several layouts at once. Get the creative work of colour, photo arranging and choice of embellishments behind you while you’re on a roll…then go back to journal. That way it does not interfere with your creativity. I love to use stamps to create the custom space, such as the ones shown here:
What a great way to secure a journal space for later! Plus you can customize by adding colour to match your layout.
Scrapbook Storage Idea
I have a ton of scrapbook supplies that simply don’t have a place to go! I never seem to be able to say no to a deal, or a new product so let’s just say that my scrapbooking area tends to get backed up. Things end up in boxes sometimes and guess what? I forget what I have. If you want to keep a handle on your supplies…try storing them in clear containers of some type. You’ll always know what’s there. Try stacking them to increase your storage space. And remember… out of sight is out of mind.
Happy Scrapbooking!

Scrapbook Your Family Recipes
We all remember those family favourites we ate as kids. When creating your Heritage Scrapbook, why not include some of those old recipes along with the stories of your mother or grandmother spending long hours to prepare them for the ones they loved. Pictures of the dishes and the cooks make such a lovely heirloom to hand down. You could also add your own recipes to make the story complete!
Summer Scrapbooking Tags
Will summer ever come? It’s a bit slow this year. But when it does, and you’re creating a ton of summer scrapbooking layouts – try our newest summer tags found in the category of “Seasons” to embellish your wonderful designs. Also great for cardmaking or gift tags!
“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~

Scrapbooking with alot of pictures
Often you may have a few too many photos of an event or trip. The trick is to use as many photos as you reasonably can without having too much of one theme. Here is an idea to use as many photos as possible in one page without spoiling the look.
1. Set aside an interesting journal area in the centre of the layout – it can be any shape.
2. Surround the center with a collage of different sized photos that frame your story.
It will take a bit of time to fit all the photos together in an appealing way, but it will be worth the time. This could be repeated so that you end up with a double layout – a fabulous way to stretch your space!
